Blog of Summer holiday, Crayfish parties and Hanna Francis

Posted by Linda on

What a stunning summer we are having. I spent 10 days in an amazingly sunny Sweden. Wish it had been longer, more like the Swedes taking 4-5 weeks off! Varberg a summer-town on the west coast is where I spent my childhood and still love going back to. Especially when the weather is like this. Long days on the beach and warm light evenings spent having BBQ, eating seafood and a few visits to the Surfers Saloon.

I always get inspired and find new products when I go back home. So I come back with new enthusiasm for my business and even though it’s just August I am looking forward to a busy autumn introducing new brands and products. One new brand which is now available on the website and shortly in the shop is Hanna Francis Design.

Hanna Francis is a Finnish/English designer who designs and manufactures high quality lighting, furniture and accessories under the Hanna Francis brand. Her style is a combination of Scandinavian simplicity and English charm. Hanna believes passionately in creating beautifully crafted, almost sculptural, objects which are made to last, and incorporate sustainability in design.

The Hindhead shop is still full of colourful striped cushions, deckchairs, sarongs, picnic blankets by Linum. All to remind us that there are still a few weeks left of summer. Still enough time to enjoy a Swedish crayfish party or kräftskiva as it’s called in Swedish. I’m sure some of you are aware Swedes have parties eating crayfish and drinking way to much vodka whilst wearing silly hats, bibs and singing even sillier songs. August is the season for this. If you want to host your own you can buy crayfish and the accessories from one of our favorite places: http://www.scandikitchen.co.uk/

Last but not least if you haven’t been to our Surrey shop and you are a little curious then here is a link to a little video for you to take a peek at.

Hejdå till nästa gång!
