The Pappelina rug crafted with love in Sweden
One of my favourite products we sell here at Scandi Living is the Pappelina rug. There are many reasons to love this rug. It’s a great product and I have 2 in my own house. They wash so well and last for a very long time so they are a great investment. Great for a busy family house as you can wash it in the machine and it comes out almost dry!
There are so many designs and colours to choose from, surely something to suit everyone.
The new designs “Mono” and “Duo” has a new width of
85cm which is a great addition to the collection. They have a skilfully woven double hemmed edge complete with a
smart, black rubber logo tag.
The rugs are uniquely woven using an exceptional number of warp threads giving them a solid and exclusive look in a two tone design.
These ranges offer a sturdy and timeless rug that will grace your home for years to come.
The Pappelina rug is designed by Lina Rickardsson and I love the story how it all started. She had just started weaving linen rugs in a small weavery in Dalarna, Sweden. There she found old stock of plastic ribbons from the 60s and with these ribbons a whole new world opened up!
Along with the craftsmen of the weavery, she began experimenting with the ribbons developing new techniques and patterns and the Pappelina rug was born.
The rugs are still made on the old looms in this very place. Each Pappelina rug represents a piece of Swedish craftsmanship and is crafted with love and pride.
