Linum represents a creative meeting point where classical Swedish design meets a craft tradition which dates back some thousand years. Linum started in 1966 with their production based in southern India. The fundamental idea was to help people to develop through their own work and this has resulted in a long term commitment. Linum's original values remain unchanged. The use of children as part of the production process has never been an acceptable source of labour for Linum. They constantly strive to improve the handling of environmental issues and to this end, they do not make use of chlorine as part of the bleaching process and only use Okotex approved colour pigments. In addition, they do not dispose of any contaminated colour residues in to the environment and clean the water used in the production process in our their water purifying plant. Design, function and quality have always been important factors within Linum's policy. This is why they decided to work with some of the best textile designers in Sweden. These designers have created both timeless and classical favorites over the years, as well as products that are suited for a limited trend. Everything from textiles for the kitchen and the table as well as for the living room and bedroom where duvet covers, bedspreads, cushions, throws and rugs are a main feature. They never compromise the quality of products and it should be noted that they always work with the best yarns, colour pigments and sewing techniques. |
